This Sunday Paris-based producer Paul Ritch will play a live set in the Drumcode Arena at London's SW4 festival. It will be the perfect opportunity to dance to the Frenchman's solid, future-facing techno and tech house rhythms.
Paul Ritch's grooves have been released on some of techno's most respected imprints including Dubfire's SCI+TEC, Slam's Soma, Josh Wink's Ovum, and Berlin's Get Physical. His label Quartz Rec has also built a niche in haunting, bleepy, twisted techno and house.
What makes Paul Ritch particularly special is that he only ever plays live, and he only plays his own music. That makes his live sets wholly unique.
Here in this exclusive interview, we chat to Paul Ritch about his upcoming set at SW4. In the run-up to the big day, we will be publishing exclusive content from all of the artists performing in the Drumcode Arena.
How do you feel about SW4?
As this is the first time that I will play at SW4 I am very exited. I've watched many videos from SW4 and it looks awesome! London has always been a special source of inspiration!
You'll be performing live. How does your festival live set differ from a live club set?
My live performance doesn't differ that much from a club to a festival, but as always I will play some fresh tunes that I've made in the last month.
How did you first discover Drumcode?
I found the Drumcode label around 2003, about one or two years after I had started playing records. I really respect the label's uncompromising approach to techno.
What's your big track for SW4?
The track that I've produced for the 15 years birthday compilation for Drumcode!
